"No! He Said": Wole Soyinka's Touching Tribute Poem to Nelson Mandela (VIDEO)













Nigerians from all walks of life pay glowing tributes to late South-African anti-apartheid icon, Nelson Mandela. The event which took place at the Freedom Park in Lagos was hosted Nobel Laureate, Wole Soyinka.

Several writers, poets, activists and community and religious leaders sang songs, poetry and engaged in dance performances at the event.

At the event in honour of late Nelson Mandela, which took place at the Freedom Park in Lagos, the Nobel Laureate, Wole Soyinka, read a touching and rare poem “No He Said” devoted to the South African anti-apartheid icon.

He was given a chance to be set free, but he said “No, until the rest of my people are free”.
